A recital of Dmitry Skorikov

06.02.2006

12 February 2006, 19.00 (Big Hall of "Helikon in Nikitskaya street")
Recital of Dmitry Skorikov

Both mind and soul
Everything new is a well forgotten past, and it's no wonder that a new wave of interest to Russian romance arose. Both aged and young people, who got tired from techno sounds which don't even remind music, want to listen to something genuine, something that touches mind and soul. This is where Russian romance has no equal.

Dmitry Skorikov is one of the leading "Helikon-Opera" soloists, a laureate of "Bella Voce" interntional contest, an owner of the brilliant velvet voice of the special power and breath width, which is both good for opera and chamber repertoire. On the 12th February in the Big Hall of "Helikon in Nikitskaya street" Dmitry will give a recital.

In the first part of the concert the best romances by M. Glinka, A. Dargomyzhsky, P. Tchaikovski, S. Rakhmaninov, G. Sviridov, P. Bulakhov. For the last bit Dmitry will sing several Gypsy romances by B. Fomin and O. Stroka "Ochi Chernye", "Hey, Guitar, friend", "Black eyes". In Dmitry Skorikov's performance these hits are becoming mini-performances with unique energy and live emotions (accompanement by Vladislav Fadeev). Dmitry cleanses the romance from its stamps, which stuck to this genre through its long life in variety art, and gives it a primeval look.

In the second part of the concert Skorikov will reveal the gloss of his strong and deep voice. With the support of the choir and orchestra of "Helikon-Opera" (conductor Konstantin Chudovski) the best arias by M. Glinka, S. Rakhmaninov, P. Tchaikovski, M. Musorgski, Ch. Gounot as well as George Gershwin hits will be performed.
