It's the second time "Helikon-Opera" conquered Israel
Yesterday "Helikon-Opera" troupe returned to Moscow from Tel Aviv, where in the Big Hall (2500 seats capacity) of New Israel Opera 7 performances of "Carmen" took place. The house was sold out. The 8th performance took place in Jerusalem.

The Holy Land greeted helikon people with warm weather and glad-hands of theatrical agentcy of Uri Ofer and Shmul Tsemakh. Artists stayed in Metropolitan hotel, which sitiated five minutes walk from the beach. The next day the first performance was already held. After Larisa Kostiuk performed "Habanera" it became obvious that the tour will be successful. The full house started to applaud. Needless to say that all eight performances were also totally sold out and had a great responce, storm of applause was heard after each turn.

The stars of the theatre participated in concerts. Among them were: Larisa Kostiuk, Ksenia Viaznikova, Svetlana Sozdateleva, Nikolay Dorozhkin, Dmitry Ponomarev, Igor Tarasov, Sergey Toptygin, Elena Semenova, Irina Samoilova, Ekaterina Oblezova, Marina Karpechenko, Sergey Kostiuk, Mikhail Seryshev, Andrey Vylegzhanin and Dmitry Ovchinnikov.

It's the second time "Helikon" visited Tel Aviv. Last year Israel people saw "The Tsar's Bride", "Mazepa" and "Pyramus and Thisbe". This year the theatre debuted in Jerusalem and repeated its success.
At leisure time Helikon people had a lot of adventures. We visited Jerusalem, Nazareth, Bethlehem, Kana.
We bathed in the Meditteranean sea and Holy Jordan. Together celebrated birthday of the chief "Helikon-Opera" choirmaster Denis Kirpanev. We had fun at 100%!

Leaving was not easy. But we said "see you soon" to Israel. Next year "Helikon-Opera" will perform in New Israel Opera with "Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk District" and "Boris Godunov".
