Jan Latham-Koenig will make the debut in "Helikon"

From the 31 of January to the 3rd of February in the “Helikon-opera” will be presented the marvelous show “Un Ballo In Maschera” by G. Verdi staged by Dmitry Bertman. For the 1st time maestro Jan Latham-Koenig (UK) will stand to the conductor’s desk of Helikon.

As the opera conductor Jan Latham-Koenig successfully made his debut in 1988 with “Macbeth” at the Vienna State Opera, where he has given about one hundred performances. He now regularly conducts in the world’s leading opera houses, including Covent Garden, the Opèra National Paris-Bastille and the operas of Berlin, Hamburg, Rome, Lisbon and Santiago.

From 1997 to 2002 Jan Latham-Koenig was the Music Director of both the Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg and Opéra National du Rhin. In 2005 he was appointed as the Music Director at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo.

From April 2011 – the principal conductor of the Novaya Opera Theatre (Moscow), where he participated in the production of R. Wagner’s “Lohengrin” and “Tristan und Isolde”, G. Verdi's “Il trovatore”, M. Ravel's “L'enfant et les sortilèges”, W. A. Mozart’s “Le nozze di Figaro”, J. Strauss’s “Salome”, Ch. Gounoud's “Faust”, M. Weinberg's “The Passenger”.
