Bravo, Alexey!

"Helikon-Opera" soloist Alexey Tikhomirov gained a glorious victory in Galina Vishnevskaya's First International Contest of opera artists. The solemn ceremony and gala-concert was held on 24th October in Moscow International House of Music just before the celebration of 80th anniversary of great Galina Vishnevskaya. The final Tikhomirov's performing of King Phillip part from "Don Carlos" by G. Verdi and Mephistopheles couplets from "Faust" by Ch. Gounod were met with loud ovation.

Alexey Tikhomirov is one of the favourite Galina's students. He performed Rene the King in "Iolanta" by P. Tchaikovsky and Mephistopheles in "Faust" by Ch. Gounod. Besides his magnificent voice, bass-baritone of velvet tone, Alexey has a perfect look: tall figure, regular features of his face, noble bearing.  He was destined to be an opera leading actor. Altogether he doesn't have any artistic caprices. His colleagues in "Helikon-Opera" theatre which he entered last year can prove it.

His firmness and workability are enviable. Parallel to preparation to the contest Tikhomirov prepared Boris Godunov's part and brilliantly performed it on the premiere in "Helikon-Opera" on the same days that performing in contest tours.

Helikon people are very glad for Alexey! Congratulations!
