The anniversary of the famous director, founder of the "Helikon", People's Artist of Russia, professor, chairman of the Council of Artistic Directors of theatres and concert organizations of Moscow became an event in the life of the entire opera world. Dmitry Bertman was congratulated by the first persons of our country, well-known figures of culture and art, public figures, and numerous admirers of the theatre and its creativity from different countries of the world.
On 2nd November, Dmitry Bertman congratulated his large family - Helikon. But Inot just congratulate him, but it was arrange a real surprise! Under the pretext of an interview for television, Dmitry Alexandrovich was make a quest - he himself had to meet a group of "TV men" with cameras and drive them around the theatre. Artistic director of "Helikon" held the entire "television" team, invited them to the "Stravinsky" hall and then ... The fanfares and the curtain rose - and on the stage decorated with colorful balloons, the theatre staff was already waiting for their favorite leader! The whole team performed the Song of the Crocodile Genes "Happy Birthday", accompanied by the symphonic orchestra led by the chief conductor Valery Kiryanov. Then the deputy artistic director of Helikon-Opera, Vladimir Gorokhov, solemnly read out the text of the government telegram with a congratulation from the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev and the text of the congratulatory letter from the Mayor of Moscow Sergei Sobyanin.
The party continued with the presentation of gifts to the jubilee, the main one of which was a huge three-story cake - with exclusive images on the sugar mastic of the theatre interiors over which the Greek mountain "Helikon", crowned with Helikon's flag, towered. Before cutting this culinary masterpiece, Dmitry Alexandrovich said that he recently visited the Mount Helikon in Greece, where is the same, but a real "Helikon" flag was hoisted on top of the Monastery of St. Luke. Now in Greece there is a piece of the "Helikon", local monks will keep it, and in the theater plans performances of artists "Helikon" on the mountain, in honor of which the theater is named.
