Helikon-Opera is flying to Mars

Its 26th birthday of «Helikon-Opera» will celebrate on Mars!

On the 10, 12 and 13 of April, 2016, the theatre invites audiences to a series of gala concerts called The Martian Opera - a colorful phantasmagoria about opera life on Mars.

For three days the halls of Helikon-Opera will be transformed into a huge spaceship, and the audience will embark on a flight across the expanses of the infinite universe. The expedition will land on the red planet, on which there is the highest  mountain of Olympus. There, in the crater of a long extinct volcano, there is an old Martian Theatre, forgotten by everyone. Every Millennium opera stars arrive here, to the Martian Olympus from the distant galaxies to show their talents.

There are two reasons for this intergalactic meeting - the birthday of «Helikon-Opera» and the 55th anniversary since the first manned flight into a space fulfilled  by Yuri Gagarin. Leading actors of the theatre will present fantastic gala concert The Martian Opera in the Stravinsky hall. In the program of the concert there are rarely performed on the stage of «Helikon-Opera» arias, Martian dances, special cosmic catering  and the exciting quest, devoted to the cosmonautics Day. Chamber halls, lobby and atrium areas will be transformed into the zones for competitions and interactive programs. During these dates  in the Zimin Foyer there will be presented the exhibition of unique photos  from space provided by Memorial Museum of Cosmonautics.

Gala concerts "The Martian Opera" will take place in «Helikon-Opera» in the address: 19/16, ul.Bolshaya Nikitskaya, Moscow.

The shows start  on the 10th of  April at 16:00 and on the 12th  and the 13th  April at 19:00.
