Igor Morozov

IGOR MOROZOV

Born in Ryazan. He has graduated from the Sveshnikov Choral School and also the vocal and choral-conducting faculties of the V. Popov Academy of choral art.

In June 2013 he made his debut on the Bolshoi theatre stage. Than he was performing on such theatre stages and venues as La Monnaie De Munt, The Kolobov Novaya Opera theatre of Moscow, Theatro Municipal de São Paulo, Hrvatsko narodno kazalište, Het Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Rahvusooper Estonia, Municipal de Santiago, Opéra de Nice, D. A. Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk state opera and ballet theatre, Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Gran Teatre del Liceu, Theater an der Wien - Das Opernhaus, Fondazione Teatro Petruzzelli, Tchaikovsky Concert Hall,  the big hall of the Moscow Conservatory.

Since 2014 Igor Morozov is a soloist of the Moscow musical theatre Helikon-opera. On the theatre’s stage he has impersonated more than 15 roles, among which there are: Lensky (“Eugene Onegin” by P.I. Tchaikovsky), Sadko (“Sadko” by N. Rimsky-Korsakov), Lïkov (“The Tsar's Bride” by N. Rimsky-Korsakov), Shuysky (“Boris Godunov” M. Mussorgsky), Andrei (“Mazeppa” by P.I. Tchaikovsky), Vaudémont (“Iolanta” by P.I. Tchaikovsky), Beppe (“Pagliacci” by R. Leoncavallo), Tamino (“Die Zauberflöte” by W. A. Mozart), Alfredo Germont (“La traviata” by G. Verdi) etc.

Igor Morozov – is a laureate of the all-Russian contest “Young talents of Russia” (Moscow 2010, 2014), the laureate of the international competitions, owner of the Elena Obraztsova’s prize “For the bright start in art” (2014). He has also become the finalist “Vocalist of the year” nomination of the Russian national music award (2016).

He was cooperated with such outstanding conductors as M. Pletnev, A. Dzedda, V. Yurovsky, A. Vedernikov, V. Fedoseev, M. Tatarnikov.

Igor Morozov took part in the recording of the solo CD of D. A. Hvorostovsky and together with the great singer has participated in the concert performance of the “Demon” opera by A. Rubinstein at the Moscow Philharmonic in 2015. Also took part in the repository recordings of the Helikon-opera performances for the “Russia-Kulture” tv-channel: “Sadko” by N. Rimsky-Korsakov, “Eugene Onegin” and “Mazeppa” by P.I. Tchaikovsky, “Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk District” by D. D. Shostakovich.

He pursues vast concert activity, and also touring all over the world as part of the Helikon-opera troupe.
