Yulia Shcherbakova

YULIA SHCHERBAKOVA
Soprano

Born in Bratsk, Irkutsk Oblast. She has graduated from the Bratsk Musical College and the Ural State Conservatory named after M. Mussorgsky - the solo singing class of People's Artist of Russia Sergey Zaliznyak.

From 2008 till 2014 she has been the soloist of the Rostov State Musical Theatre. And in 2015 she has joined the troupe of the Moscow Musical Theatre Helikon-opera.

Yulia – is the diploma winner of the First S. V. Rachmaninoff International vocal competition (Rostov-on-Don, 2009), the laureate of the Third B. T. Shtokolov International vocal competition (1st prize, Saint-Petersburg, 2012), diploma winner of the vocal competition in the framework of the Sobinov musical festival (Saratov, 2013).

On the Helikon-opera stage Yulia Shcherbakova has successfully impersonated more than 15 leading parts, among which there are: Adele (“Die Fledermaus” by J. Strauss, Oscar (“Un ballo in maschera” by G. Verdi), Gretchen (“Doctor Haass” by A. Sergunin), Liù (“Turandot” by G.Puccini), Olympia (“Les Contes d'Hoffmann” by J. Offenbach), Lisa (“Chaadsky” by A. Manotskov), Tsaritsa of Shemakha (“The Golden Cockerel” by N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov), The Queen of the Night (“Die Zauberflöte” by W. A. Mozart), Violetta (“La traviata” by G. Verdi), Angelica (“Orlando, Orlando” by G. Handel/G. Prokofiev), Marfa (“The Tsar's Bride” by N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov) etc.

The singer also pursues vast concert activity both as part of the Helikon-opera troupe and different projects. She has performed on various venues and festivals all over Russia and the world, among which there are “The Golden Mask National Theatre Award and Festival”(The Blessed Virgin in the “Juno and Avos” by A. Rybnikov, Liù in the “Turandot” by G.Puccini), Bangkok's International Festival of Dance & Music Oscar (“Un ballo in maschera” by G. Verdi), tour at the Saaremaa Opera Festival (Estonia), Miraggio Music Festival (Greece), Asean-Russia Cultural Prоgrame (Laos).
