Maya Barkovskaya
MAYA BARKOVSKAYA
soprano
Born in Krasnodar. In 2006 she graduated from the Russian Institute of Theatre Arts (GITIS), where she was studying at the faculty of musical theatre under the guidance of the People’s Artist of Russia, professor Dmitry Bertman. While educating she was performing on the Helikon-opera stage. In 2014 in the framework of the Moscow opera festival she has brilliantly impersonated the part of Micaëla (“Carmen” by G. Bizet) and was mentioned by the “Best debut” diploma. In 2005 she has become the laureate of the all-Russian competition “Students’ spring”, gained the 1st prize for performing the part of Mariya in the “Mazeppa” by P. I. Tchaikovsky at the Helikon-opera!
Since 2008 Maya Barkovskaya has become the soloist of the Helikon-opera. Now there are more than 30 parts in her repertoire: Susanna (“Le nozze di Figaro” by W.A. Mozart), Catherine (“Pierre le Grand” by A. Grétry), Micaëla (“Carmen” by G. Bizet), Mariana (“Das Liebesverbot” by R. Wagner), Papagena (“Die Zauberflöte” by W.A. Mozart), Cook (“The Nightingale” by I. Stravinsky), Duchess Catherine (“Tsarina” by D. Tukhmanov), Serpetta (“La finta giardiniera” by W.A. Mozart) Rosalinde (“Die Fledermaus” by J. Strauss), Hélène (“La belle Hélène” by J. Offenbach), Ines (“Il Trovatore” by G. Verdi) etc.
Th soloist actively takes part in Helikon-opera tours in Russia and abroad.
