Marina Kalinina

Marina Kalinina was born in Moscow, graduated from the Musical Theatre Department of the Russian Academy of Theatre Arts (training course of Professor G. Ansimov).

She is a Honored Artist of the Russian Federation (2013). In 1994–1996 Marina Kalinina was a trainee in the Bolshoi Theatre under the guidance of L. Nikitina, G. Kalinina, and M. Kasrashvili. She played the part of Barbarina in the premiere performances of “Le nozze di Figaro” by W. A. Mozart. From 1994 to 1999 she was a soloist of the Moscow Regional Philharmonia, sang in the operas by K. Monteverdi and J. C. Menotti in the experimental productions of the “Transparent
Theatre” project. 

In 1999 Marina Kalinina made her debut on the stage of Helikon-Opera as Maria (“Mazepa” by P. Tchaikovsky). She participated in many international music festivals in Darmstadt and Rüsselsheim (Germany). For eight years she has been singing the anthem of Russia at the major sport events such as the Davis Cup, the Fed Cup, the Gagarin Cup, the Russian Football Championship; these performances are distinguished with the appreciations of the Ministry of Sport and the Russian sports federations.
